  2020 Handball League: Defender Babes Win First Match As Borno Spiders Shock Lagos Seasiders By Niyi Busari Defender Babes have now won their first game of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020 holding at the Indoor Sports Hall (Package B) of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. The ladies of the Nigeria Civil Defence, who lost their two previous matches, did all they could to outscore youthful Adorable Angels and win 36-33 in what pundits call the battle of Youth and Experience. In other results of the women category of the league, Seasiders Babes comfortable defeated Desert Queens 23-16 while Edo Dynamos came out victorious over Imo Grasshoppers 18-15. In the battle of the champions, defending champions Safety Babes were purposeful as they defeated former champion 22-20. In the men category, Kano Pillars came back to winning ways as they trounced COAS Shooters 31-21 while De Defenders defeated Rima Strikers 29-22. Lagos Seasiders surprisingly lost out to Borno Spiders 26-25 while Plateau Vipers defeated Kada Stars 23-19. Most valuable player award of the match day went to Abudulmojeeb Mudashiru of De Defenders and Ada Okey of the Safety Babes for the men and women category respectively Match Day 3 Results Adorable Angels-- Defender Babes 33--36.
